Joining PTSA DOES NOT commit you to volunteering. It DOES connect you to school and PTSA Leaders, supports PTSA programs, and gives you voting rights at PTSA meetings. Membership is a way to voice your opinions to stakeholders, including teachers and administrators. Membership also brings academic resources and member discounts. Most importantly, by joining PTSA you are demonstrating to your child(ren) the importance you place on education. Joining PTSA means you believe in LFTK8 teachers, students, and families.

The Adopt-a-Book program is the perfect way to recognize a birthday, an amazing accomplishment, or even to show appreciation for a teacher while providing new books for our school library K-8. Families order a book to gift. They pick from a selection available at school; our volunteer can help. A placard and a photo, if desired, will placed in the front cover of the book. The recipient will be presented with their book and allowed to adopt the book. Once the book is returned, it is added to the library collection, and the recipient’s photo will be displayed in library for the year.

Academic Curriculum Enhancement (ACE) Funds are donated grade-specific funds used to support student learning. PTSA works with grade-level teams to bring valuable resources to our classrooms. Generally, each grade level also plans an experience/field trip. Funds remain with each class as they move through the upper grades, so your donation will always stay with your child.

Tesoro Family Schools are known for their quality music programs. It starts right here in LFK8 with your help. PTSA supports our Upper Grade’s Band, Orchestra, and Choir programs by supplying sheet music, festival registration, festival judges, purchase of props, uniforms, body mics for performances, and an Arts T-shirt.

Throughout the year LFK8 PTSA encourages teachers to apply for support through a grant process. These grants allow PTSA to bridge the gap between CUSD funding and the supplies teachers so desperately need. Grant applications are reviewed are reviewed by the Grant Committee and approved by the PTSA Association. This is a one time fundraiser.

Every year our yearbook committee puts together a wonderful review of the year. Yearbooks are hard-covered and amde of quality paper. There is even an option to personalize several pages for an added personal tough. Order early for the best price.

LFK8 Upper Grades are required to dress out for PE. Most students purchase 2 sets of PE clothes in order to be able to have a clean pair in the rotation.
